Houlder is well placed to provide independent preliminary design and FEED services in support of proposed LNG and SG export / import terminals. The objective being to define or validate studies; methodologies and data.

Houlder hydrodynamicist have the capability to review preliminary wave and wind conditions at the proposed terminal location and hydrographical, oceanographic, ice and meteorological data required to adequately capture the environmental conditions likely to be encountered at the terminal throughout the year and to make any necessary recommendations. The company has particular experience of sea ice and the challenges of operating in polar regions.

Houlder naval architects can determine if proposed berths are appropriate for a particular range of vessels – be they LNG/SG tankers, bunkering/feeder vessels or LNG fuelled vessels. This is combined with a detailed understanding of vessel operations and bunkering and transfer equipment.
